Sofia Ocegueda

Sofia Ocegueda recently graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Psychology and Minors in Social & Economic Justice and Hispanic Studies. This year, she will be starting the School Psychology doctoral program at the University of Texas at Austin and will be studying how families and schools can improve mental health outcomes for Latinx adolescents. She was raised in Durham, NC, but is a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. Her hobbies include cuddling with her dogs, paper quilling, reading, and finding the best coffee shops. She was part of the first Somos Carolina instructor cohort and she enjoyed being a part of a community that supported and engaged Latinx students while encouraging growth in their identities.
