Latinx Education Summit

LatinxEd invites you to attend the annual Latinx Education Summit on Wednesday, September 14, and Thursday, September 15 at the Conference Center at Guilford Technical Community College!

The Latinx Education Summit is an annual statewide gathering of Latinx leaders and education champions that focuses on building collective action, developing new strategies, and mobilizing resources to address the myriad of educational challenges Latinx students face in North Carolina.

Over this two-day Summit, participants will learn about the current state of Latinx education in North Carolina and identify actionable steps that guarantee programs and policies intended to advance educational equity are inclusive of the needs of Latinx children and families.

It’s clear that as the makeup of our schools and communities continues to change, the success of North Carolina depends on the success of Latinx students and families. Join us to listen, learn, and build community with fellow education champions invested in the future of the Latinx community and our state.

LatinxEd will reveal its State of Latinx Education, a recap of its year-long #SomosNC Listening Tour along with lessons learned from speaking to students, parents, and educators across North Carolina. The issue areas included will anchor the two-day Summit which will include panel discussions, workshops, community-building opportunities, and keynote addresses!

Topics of discussion will include: college access and success, teacher diversity, immigration policy, Latinx leadership, culturally responsive pedagogy, mental health, among other issues relevant to the success of Latinx students in our state.
