LatinxEd invites you to attend our annual Latine Education Summit on Thursday, September 12th – Friday, September 13th at the Benton Convention Center, Winston-Salem, NC! Summit guests, don’t forget to reserve your hotel room at our discount group rate and register to join our Pre-Summit Mixer on the evening of Wednesday, September 11th.
The Latine Education Summit is a statewide gathering of Latine leaders and education champions committed to advancing Latine success. This annual convening celebrates those who are mobilizing resources and cultivating a thriving Latine education landscape. Our goal is to amplify actionable strategies and jointly address the barriers faced by North Carolina’s Latine learners and leaders.
Over this two-day Summit, participants will learn about the state of Latine education in North Carolina and gain invaluable networking opportunities. They will take home insights and practical steps from statewide leaders to transform learning environments and educational experiences. Our vision is to co-design local and statewide programs and policies inclusive of Latine youth and immigrant families.
This year’s Summit theme serves as a timely call to action–“Aquí y Ahora” (Here and Now). As we navigate change, especially amidst an election season, we must come together, recharge, and take concrete steps toward a brighter future. We hope you’ll join us for meaningful dialogue, data, and discovery to shape the future of Latine education equity!
+ To listen, learn, and build community with fellow educators and leaders invested in the future of the Latine community and our state.
+ To explore actionable steps for programs and policies intended to advance educational equity that includes the needs of Latine children and families.
+ To collectively activate toward a new vision of what educational opportunity and mobility can look like for Latine students, immigrant families, and multilingual learners.
+ To recognize and celebrate the education champions who amplify college access and advance Latine student and family success across North Carolina.
We hope to spark collaboration among Latine leaders and allies! We believe the following groups of leaders will gain valuable knowledge and community at our Summit.
Latine education leaders: Individuals working in schools, community colleges, university outreach programs, and non-profit organizations dedicated to college access or addressing the postsecondary needs of our community.
School and district leaders: Educators, administrators, and decision-makers eager to contribute to and learn from conversations centering Latine families and educators.
Policymakers: Local and state policymakers with a desire to contribute to a discussion about the challenges and opportunities to advance Latine student success and career development.
Community stakeholders: Grassroots leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and others who are invested in amplifying educational opportunities and furthering the success of Latine learners in their local community.
LatinxEd will share insights from our Nuestra Esperanza Issue Brief, a culmination of the impactful interviews conducted over the past year. We will discuss key themes uncovered through conversations with Latine and Latine-serving educators across North Carolina. Alongside statewide education leaders, we will reimagine a thriving, interconnected education ecosystem. Join us for thought-provoking panel discussions, skill-building workshops, community-building activities, and empowering speeches from our Semillas and Storytellers!
