Our initiativesNorth Carolina is experiencing a remarkable transformation. As the state with the sixth-fastest-growing Latine population and the seventh-largest DACA population in the country, Latine students have become a significant force in our schools. Since 2000, nearly 100% of the growth in public school enrollment has come from Latine students. Yet, pathways to success remain limited and obstructed. Despite their growing presence, Latine students represent less than 4% of public postsecondary enrollment in North Carolina.
A lack of representation in education leadership drives systemic inequities, especially for Latine students in rural and historically excluded communities. LatinxEd is here to meet the growing need for culturally rooted leadership in North Carolina, as the Latine community continues to expand faster than ever.
