Communications Assistant
Lucero Rocha De La Cruz (she/ ella) is a Mexicana-Americana with heritage from Nuevo Tantoán, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She is a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in Nursing with a minor in Translation and Interpretation. At UNC, she is a Pulso Scholar, a HYPE mentor, ISLA tutor, Mi Pueblo Comunidad committee member, and a former NC Sli scholar. In the future, she hopes to join a PhD program and conduct research on the intersection between education, racial-ethnic identity, and health in order to shed light on the health effects of school-related stress on Latinx students. Lucero manages social media content for Nuestro South and LatinxEd. She also manages all of Nuestro South’s project management. Lucero is ecstatic to have the opportunity to bring light to issues and successes regarding the Latinx community.
