Kamesha Chalmers is a first-generation college student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and former transfer student from Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, NC. She is currently a senior majoring in Psychology with minors in Hispanic Studies and Education. She plans to work as a school psychologist and educator in the future. She was born and raised in NC (Sanford-Fayetteville areas) and has always been interested in learning about other cultures as she plans to travel after graduation. Her favorite food is pizza, and her favorite snacks are cookies and Reese’s. Her hobbies include learning new languages, doing random DIY projects, and gaming. She was part of the first Somos Carolina instructor cohort and she enjoyed working with Latinx youth from her hometown as they discovered more about their own identities and perspectives.
