Cesar Hernandez

Cesar Kevin Hernandez Alonso is the eldest child of 4 and a first-generation Latino student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is from Mount Airy, North Carolina, and is of Mexican heritage from the states of Michoacan and Guanajuato. He cares about his impact on the lives of others, and how his resilience, determination, and passion for self-growth can be influential with the people he encounters. He works diligently to cultivate his skills, character, and mindset to fulfill his set mission: improve the quality of life for people in less-fortunate communities. He is applying to the Kenan-Flagler Business School to better understand the relationship between business investment and development projects in communities, and how the lives of people are affected. He strives to utilize business as a vessel for social mobility and a medium to confront social issues such as educational opportunities, healthcare access, environmental sustainability, diversity, and inclusion, etc. At 19 years old, Cesar is focused on attaining an internship with a non-profit organization to gain valuable experience in understanding how to properly conduct and sustain a non-profit organization.
