A Senior Software Engineer at Merit America, Oscar Romero Jorge is a first-generation immigrant from Ecatepec, Mexico, raised in rural Sampson County, NC. A former DACA recipient and Golden Door Scholar, he earned a Math degree with a minor in Computer Engineering from UNC Charlotte. Passionate about advocacy, Oscar co-founded Votemos Durham and volunteers with organizations like Road to Hire and Code the Dream to uplift his community and champion civic engagement.
