Biography

With roots in Pakistan and a passion for immigrant rights and equitable access to education, Fatima Nadeem is dedicated to creating opportunities for underrepresented communities. As a John M. Belk Impact Fellow at LatinxEd, Fatima brings a unique perspective as a dually enrolled high school senior at Davidson-Davie Community College and Davidson Early College High School, where she is pursuing an Associate in Arts degree with a certificate in Paralegal Technology (Civil Litigation). Her experiences as a second-generation immigrant and Pakistani-American from the South have fueled her commitment to advocating for immigrants and refugees. Fatima has gained valuable experience interning at Burgos Law, volunteering with the North Carolina African Services Coalition to provide legal services to refugees, and collaborating with state legislators. As the founder of Storm Forward, a Carson Scholar, and Global Scholar, Fatima is passionate about addressing systemic barriers to higher education. She is thrilled to join LatinxEd to continue her mission of supporting immigrant communities and empowering others to achieve their academic aspirations.
