Eloy Omar Macias was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico and moved to the United States at the age of 11. Having been a student in the Scholar Latino Initiative, and being sensitive to the hardships that follow acclimating to a new country’s education system, Eloy has always sought to aid and improve education for Hispanic students. Eloy Macias is a graduate of Lee County High School in Sanford, NC and has been employed by Lee County Schools as a Technology Technician for the past 5 years. He proudly serves on the English Learner Advisory Council for Lee County Schools and on the Lee County Hispanic Council. Eloy is a board member for MINA Charter School of Lee County, where he devotedly serves as the Vice-Chair for the Operations Committee and Chair for the Media Outreach Committee.
