Originally from Guerrero, Mexico, and raised in Clayton, NC, Oscar Miranda Tapia serves as Assistant Director for First-Generation Student Support Services at Elon University. He previously worked with Alamance Achieves to drive educational systemic change in Alamance County. A first-gen college graduate and Golden Door Scholar, Oscar earned a B.A. from Elon University and a Master’s in Education from Harvard. His passions include college access, affordability, and advocacy for DACA, undocumented, and Latine students.
