College Access Coach
Tanya Fuentes serves as a Virtual College Access Coach in LatinxEd's College y Consejos program. Born in Charlotte, NC to immigrant parents from Mexico and El Salvador, Tanya is a first-generation college student who graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and French and later went on to receive her master's degree in School Counseling from UNC-Charlotte. Her passion for helping underrepresented students was born from her own struggles transitioning into college as a first-gen college student who lacked the necessary resources and support. Tanya currently works as a School Counselor in NC public schools and aspires to help bridge the opportunity gap that exists for black and brown students. She is excited to be joining College y Consejos to be an additional support to students and their families as they prepare for their future!
