Sara Hernandez

Sara Hernandez was born and raised in Charlotte, NC, but identifies as 100% Salvadoreña! She is a junior at UNC Chapel Hill majoring in Latin American Studies with an Education minor. She enjoys playing the drums, singing, and eating good food. Her favorite foods are pupusas and banh mi, and she also enjoys looking for new music, thrifting on a budget, and surfing twitter. She is a proud Hermana of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. and is passionate about her sorority’s goal of enlightening communities about Latinx cultural, social, and political issues. She was part of the first Somos Carolina instructor cohort and cherished the memories of her students opening up and getting comfortable with one another while exploring Latinidad and community.
