Somos Carolina Expansion & Community Engagement

Parker Harris is on the Somos Carolina Curriculum Intern Team, focusing on the expansion of the program. He is a sophomore student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, studying Dramatic Art and Performance Studies, and is the Lead Student Coordinator for Arts Everywhere. He also serves as the Founding Artistic Director for Kids On Stage, a youth community theatre group based in Greene County. At Kids On Stage, he has helmed innovative productions like Frozen JR and the World Premiere of A Country Carol, in which he wrote the script. Among other things, he is vocal about his support for accessible arts education and experiences for youth and their importance in our communities, particularly rural areas. He was the 2019 recipient of the Freddie G Inspiration Award at the Junior Theater Festival and was a part of The Free Press’ 2019 class of 20 under 40 recipients.
