Nancy Ayala (she/ella) is a Peruvian from Iquitos, Peru. She immigrated to the U.S at the age of 10 and has been living in North Carolina ever since. She is currently a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in Global Studies and Hispanic Studies with a minor in Translation and Interpreting. At UNC, she is the Translator for MELT and a member of Carolina First. In In the future, she plans to become an Overseas Interpreter or Government Affair Specialist, with the hopes of helping the Latinx community by becoming a bridge between Spanish and English speakers and providing resources needed by them.
