Nadia Trevizo

Youth Programs Manager

Nadia Trevizo is the Youth Programs Manager at LatinxEd. Nadia was born in El Paso, Texas and was raised in Chihuahua, Mexico until she was 14. She then lived in New Mexico until she was 19. After high school Nadia relocated to Eastern North Carolina where she attended Coastal Carolina Community College, obtained her Associate of Arts, and transferred to Arizona State University to finish her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. Nadia then went on to attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she obtained her Master of Arts in Spanish. While attending UNC Wilmington, she did an Assistantship and Internship at Centro Hispano, focusing on the MI CASA program. She helped develop curriculum around Identity Development for Latinx Students, catering her support to the new generations of Leaders. She also instructed an Intermediate Spanish course for second language learners. Prior to graduating, she received the 2022 Graduate Teaching Assistant Award for excellence in teaching and curriculum development for the MI CASA program. Throughout her studies, her areas of interest have been the impact of language in multicultural and multilingual settings and how we can better support heritage speakers in the classroom setting through culture, language & identity development. Nadia is excited to be joining the LatinxEd team, she is eager to give back to the community and be a support system for those who have to navigate the educational system.
