Associate Director for Early Literacy at Book Harvest

Meytal is a bilingual/bicultural early childhood educator with a MEd in Early Intervention and Family Support from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was born and raised in Caracas Venezuela, and has partnered with families for over 25 years in Caracas, Boston, Miami, and Durham, NC through various roles and opportunities: she was a preschool and elementary school teacher, she also worked as a research consultant at Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute, and is currently the Associate Director for Early Literacy at Book Harvest. Meytal is passionate about early literacy and the impact of active parent and family engagement in our communities. She also believes that this partnership is a collaborative and dynamic process between families and educational systems. She has learned that this mutual alliance with parents/caregivers supports them and their children in unlocking their full potential, which translates into a lifetime of learning opportunities and success for all children in our communities.
