A proud Ecuadorian, Marisue Peralta Macias was born in New Jersey, but raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is passionate about helping her community and inspiring her fellow community members. She is highly involved with her church as a Sunday school teacher and participates in Mission Trips to help the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and the Boys and Girls Club. She's also involved with multiple organizations at her school and serves as the president of the French and Science National Honor Societies. After she graduates from high school, she hopes to attend the college of her dreams, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, to pursue a career as a Pediatric Surgeon and perhaps practice medicine internationally. She hopes that her impact will one day transcend borders to help those who are most in need of medical aid, clean water, and accessible education.
