Mariana Chavez Guerrero was born in Monterrey, Mexico and lived there for about seven years before coming to the United States. She’s spent most of her life in Bentonville, Arkansas and is now a full-time student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Psychology and Human Development and Family Sciences. Mariana is currently doing research on ethnic-racial identity development among youth and hopes to continue doing research in graduate school. She is the oldest sister to two brothers and often goes back to San Luis Potosi, Mexico to visit family. With a passion for educational equity, Mariana is very excited to join the LatinxEd community. In her free time, she loves watching movies and shows, playing piano, trying new boba places, and building escape rooms!
