Maria Lopez Gonzalez

Deputy Director at El Pueblo

Maria Gonzalez is a DACA-mented activist from rural NC and Mexico City. She is the Deputy Director at El Pueblo, leading policy and political campaigns to advance immigrant rights and their empowerment. She’s joined coalitions at the national and state levels advocating for pathways to citizenship, labor standards for farmworkers, and in-state tuition for undocumented students. Maria formerly worked at Student Action with Farmworkers supporting 25 college students every summer in their development as leaders and activists supporting farmworkers and advocating for their rights. She’s been recognized as part of LatinxEd’s 20 Under 20 and ShethePeople’s 25 Under 25.
