Karina's leadership journey started in high school when she took leadership roles in her school and school district. In these roles, Karina used her leadership skills to amplify the voices of her Latinx peers. Throughout her undergraduate career, she continued to contribute by actively participating in school organizations that fundraised for community efforts. While her leadership journey is only beginning, Karina's next goal is to pursue a career as an immigration attorney after completing her undergraduate studies. With a genuine passion for social justice and a desire to make a meaningful impact, Karina wants to utilize her legal expertise to effectively support and advocate for immigrant communities. It is precisely this dedication and drive that led Karina to apply for the LatinxEd Fellowship. Karina knew that she would be connected with a supportive community that would not only teach her valuable skills but also motivate her to strengthen her leadership abilities. The LatinxEd Fellowship would create an environment for her to learn more about herself as a leader and more about the Latinx experience.
