Karina Castañeda Esparza

Fellowship Coach

Karina Castañeda Esparza is a first-generation student at UNC-Chapel Hill. She is a Junior majoring in Human Development and Family Studies and minoring in Hispanic Studies. Karina enjoys finding new community service projects to get involved with. Over the years, she has volunteered for many non-profit organizations and programs that fight for social justice and promote equity. As a former NC SLI and Somos Carolina Scholar, Karina has picked up a strong passion for guiding and supporting our Latinx communities in North Carolina. During the school year, she worked as a program assistant for Somos Carolina and is excited to return this summer to be a Semillas Coach. Outside of work and school, one of her favorite hobbies is having photoshoots with friends and dancing with her family.
