Jose Yair Castellanos Gallegos

Jose Yair Castellanos Gallegos was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and lived there the majority of his childhood. Twelve years ago, he immigrated to the United States with his family. Since then, he has pushed himself to focus on his education and embrace being a lifelong learner. He is currently an early college high school student in Boonville, North Carolina where he is the captain of his school’s soccer team, Student Council President, and Vice President of Juntos 4-H. Most importantly, he is passionate about supporting his community by expanding opportunities for higher education for the Latinx community as a whole. Once he finishes high school, he plans to continue his educational journey to college and hopes to find a career that allows him to give back to a community that has given him so much.
