Somos Carolina Project Development Intern

Jazmin Santillan Castillo (she/her/ella) is a Mexicana-Americana with roots in Pahuatlán de Valle, Puebla, México. She is a first-generation college student in her sophomore year at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in Dental Hygiene. At UNC, Jazmin is a new member of Mi Pueblo’s Comunidad & Social committees, hoping to advocate the issues surrounding the Latinx community. Jazmin aspires to attend Dental School and open her independent practice, to serve low-income, Spanish-speaking communities in order to improve the inadequate health-care system provided to the Latinx community. At LatinxEd, Jazmin serves as a project development intern with Somos Carolina, to compose curriculums promoting Latinidad, Learning, and Leadership.
