Jael Daniela Oliva Escobar, born in Olancho, Honduras, now living in Durham, North Carolina. Jael fled her country at age 14 with her mother and two sisters. Having to come to a different country to open up to a world of different opportunities, Jael wanted to develop academically, with the hope of helping others. With a growth mindset eager to learn she joined multiple clubs including the Future Business Leaders of America (BFA) at Hillside High school. Jael was also part of the student government her last year working to better represent Hillside's Hispanic students by translating and demonstrating the multiple opportunities given to every student. With plans to pursue a career in medicine, she plans to attend North Carolina Central University (NCCU) as part of the class of 2027 to then apply for med-school. She likes visual arts, learning what new technologies might bring and practicing graphic design as she practices with creating media designs for her family and friends. Jael is interested in learning different languages. To relax, she prefers a good movie night.
