Ismael Mastache Lagunas

Ismael Mastache Lagunas is a name that stands out, one that leaves a lasting impression. While not commonly heard, it carries a sense of distinction. Above all, he is a man of God, emphasizing his deep faith and guiding principles. Ismael's purpose on this earth is to create a positive change, whether by shifting a family's perspective on education or making a transformative impact on someone's well-being. Currently a rising senior at Lee Senior High School, he hold aspirations of wearing scrubs in a hospital, preparing for life-changing surgeries. To pursue this dream, Ismael is determined to double major in psychology and biochemistry at a prestigious university, ultimately earning a Bachelor's degree in science. Subsequently, his path leads to Medical School, where he aims to acquire an MD. All of this in hope to become a general surgeon at Chapel Hill. Leadership is an integral part of who he is, evident in his involvement in various clubs, programs, internships, his job, church activities, and, most importantly, within the realm of his own home. For four years, Ismael has been an active participant in the LatinxEd program and have been honored to serve as an ambassador for Somos Carolina. Through LatinxEd, he have learned the importance of taking that initial step, even when he may be the sole individual doing so. Furthermore, playing a musical instrument has provided him with a unique perspective on life. "Change" is a powerful concept, signifying transformation and modification. His aim is to harness the power of change for the betterment of others and the world around him.
