Gricelda de la Cruz

Office Director at Church World Service Charlotte

Gricelda is the daughter of Mexican immigrants born in California but raised in Kannapolis, NC. She has a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and a Master's in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In 2014, Gricelda joined the effort in Charlotte to support the influx of unaccompanied immigrant children. For seven years, she supported newcomer children. In 2021, she traveled to San Diego to an Emergency Influx Shelter, where she supported the reunification process of children with their loved ones. In 2022, she continued to work with immigrant children by providing post-release services. Today, she is the Office Director for CWS Charlotte, supporting unaccompanied immigrant children. Her team provides ongoing assistance and connects children to community-based resources. She serves as a Board Member for the nonprofit Latin American's Working for Achievement. She currently resides in Charlotte, NC.
