Fatima Herrera

Student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro

Fatima is an incoming student at UNC Greensboro and one of three sisters who are a part of the LatinxEd Fellowship program! She also works with those sisters at the Casa Azul de Wilson non-profit(an organization that the sisters founded) whose mission is to uplift the leadership, academic, and civic pursuits of latinx families. She is a strong believer in the cultural wealth her community brings. Now she is exploring the world in search of her most authentic self, one that acknowledges the need for educational equity and language justice while staying true to her own passions. She wanted to join the Fellowship to push herself outside of her comfort zone and into a wealth of knowledge and support from other Latinx education leaders around the state.
