Esperanza Valenzo-Pastrana (she/ella) is a proud Mexican-American originally from Greensboro, North Carolina. Currently, she is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. At UNC, she is the Vice President for the Minority Business Student Alliance, the Marketing Director for the Association of Latino Professionals for America, a Kenan-Flagler Assured Admit, a Carolina First, and a member of the Marketing Club and the Carolina Women in Business. In the future, she hopes to become a UX/Product Designer in hopes of eventually breaking into Product Management. Esperanza’s experiences as a Mexican-American first-generation college student has fueled her passion to advocate for the Latinx community. With this, she feels honored to have been a part of LatinxEd this past spring semester where she was able to serve as a Curriculum intern for Somos Carolina. This year, she will be working with the Communications team as a Web Development Communications Assistant. Esperanza is extremely excited to be joining the LatinxEd team once again this year as she is able to strengthen her technical skills while continuing to advocate for Latinx students and families.
