Elsa Landeros

College y Consejos Program Assistant

Elsa Landeros (she/her/hers) is a Mexican American born in Chapel Hill, NC. She is currently a sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill majoring in Economics with a minor in Spanish for the Professions. Coming from a family of teachers, she valued education greatly at a young age. She was a part of the founding chapter of Somos Carolina at Orange High School and also the last chapter of NC Sli. In addition to her experience with LatinxEd, a college course she took highlighting the experiences of immigrants to America (GLBL-87H) inspired her to continue to do work with the LatinX community. She is passionate about the advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community, Black Lives Matter, the effects of immigration policies, & equitable education. Although she still does not know what she wants to do in the future, she knows she wants to elevate the futures of LatinX youth through educational attainment.
