Elizabeth Vanegas

Elizabeth Vanegas is a sophomore at North Carolina State University where she is double majoring in Biology and Science Education with a concentration in Middle Grades. She is originally from Sanford, North Carolina and graduated from Lee Early College in 2018 with her high school diploma and Associate of Science from Central Carolina Community College. Her parents are both from El Salvador and she has been to El Salvador three times to visit. In her spare time, she likes to sing, play instruments, and travel. She was part of the first Somos Carolina instructor cohort and she enjoyed exploring representation within higher education with young students and helping them build their own cultural identities within their academic lives.
