Strategic Planning Intern
Elena Delvalle is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Education. Her mother is Mexican and her father is Colombian. She has interned with the Robeson County Migrant Education Program since 2017 and is currently a translator and peer counselor for Seed to Plate at UNC, which is a program that has partnered with Robeson County MEP to serve the migrant families by increasing access to healthier living and eating. Her dream is to become an elementary school teacher with the ultimate goal of creating an inclusive classroom that fully encompasses her students' distinct lives and culture. It's important for her to provide her students with the language and knowledge to validate their lived experiences.
