Advancement Manager
Douglas Reyes serves as the Advancement Manager at LatinxEd. Douglas’ experience as a first-generation college student and work as a college adviser for underrepresented, first-generation high school students ignited his passion for postsecondary education equity. In 2018, Douglas graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Computer Science. After graduating, Douglas served as a college adviser with the Carolina College Advising Corps (CCAC) supporting underrepresented students pursuing higher education in Charlotte, NC. Working closely with many students of mixed immigration statuses, Douglas repeatedly ran into barriers preventing these students from accessing higher education. Intent on disrupting and dismantling barriers to higher education, Douglas is pursuing his Master’s in Public Administration at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Douglas was a John M. Belk Endowment Impact Fellow with LatinxEd prior to his transition into a full-time staff member. He is excited and looking forward to working and learning from the LatinxEd team about the diverse Latinx immigrant families and communities in North Carolina.
