Camila was born in Greenville, North Carolina and raised in La Grange, North Carolina. She goes to North Lenoir High School, in which she joined FCCLA, which stands for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. She decides to join to get out of her comfort zone and be able to enhance her leadership skills. Slowly with her love of Interior Design, she competed at state competition. Camila got out and spoke in front of the judges and got second place receiving a ticket to nationals at Denver, Colorado. At nationals, she went to workshops in which she learned about how to prepare for university, mental health, and how to be a good leader. After her participation at nationals, she wanted to explore more opportunities to push herself out of her comfort zone and shape her leadership skills. She later learns about the LatinxEd Fellowship and decides to join and go out to learn more about their mission. She can’t wait to attend and be part of the LatinxEd in which she can learn more of Latinx history and many more things involving the Latinx community.
