Ben Davalos was born in Saltillo, Coahila (Mexico) and immigrated to North Carolina in 2004. After graduating from Cary Academy, he attended UNC Chapel hill where he was a Pogue Scholar. Ben began working at Lenovo as an intern in 2018 and accepted a full-time position within Lenovo’s Accelerated Sales Rotational program in June 2019. There, he managed Lenovo’s K-12 education accounts in the Northeast and fell in love with education technology. In 2021, he found an opportunity at IXL Learning, a Bay Area-based edtech company, to grow that passion. Currently, Ben works as an International Account Manager for IXL’s accounts in Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. Outside of work, Ben serves on LatinxEd’s board where he helped to launch partnerships with Cary Academy and Lenovo. He is also an associate member of La Red Global MX, an organization sponsored by the Mexican Consulate charged with leading projects to advance the success and wellbeing of Mexicans living abroad. Ben has led a number of volunteer events between La Red Global MX and LatinxEd such as mock-interviews and careers panels.
