Student at Triangle Math and Science Academy

Angelus is currently a sophomore at the Triangle Math and Science Academy. He came to apply for the Fellowship due to another program called ISLA connecting with Latinxed (along with the support of his parents) to get more in touch with his Latin roots. He joined ISLA because he was interested in learning Native Spanish through a community of students who shared his background and culture. At school, he is beginning a path to leadership by being a student ambassador for new students interested in STEM pathways as well as being a part of Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA). He wants to start a new chapter that centers his heritage and culture by joining a network of Latinx Leaders in the state who can mentor him and help grow his advocacy efforts.
