Student at South Lenoir High School
Alexander Renteria is currently a junior at South Lenoir High School. Transferring freshman year took work for him, but his grades persisted in showing academic excellence in a new atmosphere. Alex has always been involved in the community and school, like being a member of six clubs, an officer in two, in the National Technical Honors Society and HOSA, and volunteering in communities such as Duplin County and Lenoir County. Sports are another thing he does. You name it, he has tried them all, but the ones he has stuck with are soccer and cross country. He aspires to make his family proud. He also has big plans like attending Nursing School, achieving his bachelor's and master's degrees, and becoming a nurse anesthetist. With aspirations like such, he believes fellowships like LatinxEd will help him accomplish his dreams in the future and provide him with connections and the right resources. The biggest goal he has set forth is to be the first in his family to receive a degree in general, most notably from a university.
