Alan Rojas-Rodriguez (He/Him/Él) is a First-Generation Undergraduate Student at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC, to Mexican and Salvadoran parents. He is a double major in Political Science and Peace, War, and Defense, with a minor in Data Science. At Carolina, Alan is a Woods Family Scholar, Covenant Scholar, Honors Carolina student, Gilman Scholars Alumni, and a Ronald E. McNair Scholar. He has been consistently involved on campus, serving in leadership roles such as Political Action Co-Chair and now Co-President of Mi Pueblo, UNC's largest Latinx-based student organization. Additionally, he is a Hermano of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda, Fraternity Inc., a Latinx-based fraternity dedicated to providing access to higher education for Latinx and other minority students. Alan is passionate about researching educational attainment and promoting equality within education for Latinx students and other underrepresented groups. He intends to pursue a Ph.D. in Education to further his knowledge and pave a pathway toward greater educational attainment for all. Alan is thrilled to join the LatinxEd team, driven by a deep commitment to forging pathways that empower Latinx students to overcome barriers and achieve their academic aspirations, unlocking their full potential.
